A while ago I posted about our pony and it will be no surprise to some of you that she has been diagnosed with bone spavins in both hocks on x ray and vet suspects mild laminitic foot pain and also ulcers. She is 9. She is lovely but unrideable at the moment so looking at scoping to assess if there are ulcers then vet wants to start her on bute. He says it will help her circulation as well as manage the pain but if she has ulcers they need treatment first.

I've found for my ulcery one that when she needs bute its best to try and buffer her stomach before feeding it. So she always gets it after eating hay and i really like the Thunderbrooks herbal stomach supplement.

I think the colder weather is aggravating her bone spavins too - not wanting to go forward and I sat some pretty impressive bucks yesterday.

Hope you get to the bottom of it.
