Thanks again for all the advice.
Spoke to the owner and agreed to-

Hay
We are going to ask the farmer to put a big bale of hay out for them in the feild tomorrow, i'll see if they fight and if they do i will split it up. I'm hoing that if they realise they have a constant supply of hay then they won't be so argumentative over it.

Wormer
Owner said to go ahead and buy and she will pay me back so thats good.
They were wormed with Panacur 5 day last time (approx three months ago, maybe a bit longer) so going to go for equest pramox this time round. As it includes tapeworm as well and it must be 6months + since they were treated forthat.

Looking at the wormer instructions it says you shouldn't turn the horse out on pasture for 3 days to prevent contaminating the grass with wormer. Is this true? How long (if at all) do you keep your horse in after worming? Ideally i would want to turn them straight back out again but can stable them for the night if needed.

Also will put the skinny one and Jess on pink powder and see how they pick up.

Thats good that you have managed to get something sorted.
I turn out pretty much straight away after worming, partly because I am on grass livery, and partly because he doesn't stay in stables (barges straight through the door! When you have nearly a tonne of horse, stable doors and flimsy hinges are no match!). I would worm, go out and totally poo pick - every poo you can find, even little ones, and turn out again.

Brilliant thats good news. We have a poo hoover so will get that out and make sure the feilds are clean. Is it essential to keep the feilds clear for a week or so after as well?

yes she is... it's the same with shoeing and feeding....
I think now i am taking more of an interest i can keep things a bit more consistant for them all. (remind her when their feet need doing and when we need to buy feed).
Poo hoover is fun but we need something to tow it with... its a two person job at the moment!

Thanks for the article will have a read.

It is all abit fustrating but at least she seems happy for me to take control and accept advice x

My yard wormed about a month ago, all horses stayed in overnight but more as a precaution in case there was a reaction to the wormer and easier to check if any worms in droppings. Chucked them straight back out the next morning though and all was fine and dandy

lol, i reckon they will all be very impressed! Off in a min to see if i can grab some wormers from the local tack shop then can bring them all in tomorrow morning, worm them, chuck big bale of hay out, sort fields out and then chuck them back out. Will check on them 7pm and first thing in morning.
