Well I am still undecided as to whether it has made a huge difference.
We are still persevering but I actaully think the way she is has more to do with the weather
If it is cold she definitely takes a bit longer to loosen up through her back.
We were given Gerd's new book for christmas which had some intersting statements about hyperflexion and a diagram which basically shows what Diva does when she first comes out. Which that she tries to bridge-up and block through her back while hyperflexing!
So we have had a few hairy moments including an arguement between her leg and the B marker. See pics below!
Luckily the leg, helped by her brushing boot, won but I don't think the marker will ever be the same again. Thank god I always boot up!
It has been a case of 5 steps forward and 6 back, but the later half of my Christmas holiday saw the most improvement and OH had a lesson with his trainer on her and she was incredible! Collected canter and extended trot were amazing
The day my saddle came back we worked her before hand, as we wanted to do more than have a walk and a trot round! She came out probably the worst she has ever gone. I was mortified - God knows what the saddler thought. I cringed for about 5 minutes until she clicked on and then went beautifully.
I think I thought I might see a radical difference which we haven't, but there is a change. I have also been using the magnets on her back before being ridden, keeping a rug on her to warm-up and in the absence of a walker I have walked her round in hand for 10 minutes first.
I have also been jumping her which we have both enjoyed.
So here goes:
POSITIVES
More forward
Better canter
NEGATIVES
Kicking out against leg (reducing all the time)
The odd buck
Will do another update at the end of the month.
