As my little chap has mastered it: took himself off out of his paddock, under the electric tape, across the next two paddocks and in with a couple of horses from his stable block, lol! Fellow livery spotted him and frogmarched him back to his stable for me until I could get up to the yard.

Decided that the simplest solution was a second line of tape under the first. Tested this theory with a lunge line. Turned around to say good morning to one of the YOs. Heard a self satisifed snort from pony...yup, he was out again!
The worst part was that he managed to duck down far enough to avoid touching the lunge line at all, so even the electric current in a second row of tape would not have worked, iyswim. Thankfully YO had a solution and he is now sharing a different paddock with an older mare who is semi retired due to injury. This paddock is surrounded by a very tall, very thick thorn hedge, and has a five bar gate as its entry point (he was ducking under the single tape gate in his old paddock).

No further attempts at escape have occurred as yet, although it has only been 48 hours so who knows? He may build himself a catapult...if anyone in the north of Ireland spots a small pink pony flying through the air, please let me know! :D

Am going to add photos once husband has returned from meeting as he has working Photobucket. Have to say, I love this new yard. It is heaven. The people are lovely, the facilities are wonderful, and the grazing is very well maintained. Stables are big and airy, and the hay is great quality. They have donkeys, and there is a farm nearby so he also is being exposed to cows, sheep and pigs, as well as tractors etc. Great socialisation for him :)

Hoping to get the farrier out this week just for a quick rasp over and check up - don't want my little chap to forget what standing for the farrier entails! Have been practicing walking in hand, grooming, rugging, and standing tied up. All good so far, although I have not been keeping him spotless as want to leave the oil in his coat so as to avoid rugging until needed. If it ever is - he has such a thick coat coming in! And a little beard, lol!

The mare he is out with is very sweet and has been mentoring him well. They look as if they could be mother and son, tbh. Yesterday, they spent a while lying down together and relaxing. They are out 24/7 this week, making the most of the mild weather, and this is helping with his stifle. I find he is stiff turning out still when stabled. However, he is much better than he was and can trot, canter, buck - and limbo dance - happily once out. So steady progress is being made. No longer on the danilon either. Think I will ask the vet to pop out sometime in October just to check him over and see what he thinks.

I would offer carrots but T'Khasi ate them all! :o

Being with the lovely semi-retired mare in the field with the big hedges sounds perfect. :D

Looking forward to the photos and I'm glad that he's feeling better.
