Got my weekly e-mail update today:-)) Sounds like he is making an impression lol

Morning,

First he is doing fine.

Can you tell me where he learnt to untie knots?

Every morning he has untied the knot to his gate and opened it and decided to go into the smaller boys field [I do not think they mind, he wants them all to be mates and a heard together]. We have now put a lock on the gate, unless he is also a safe cracker he should be in his own paddock this morning, but who knows.

He is a real character and he is starting to show that now, which is a further sign he has settled down well.

We have not been able to do as much as I had hoped as he is still a little 'footie', but every day there seems to be a slight improvement, so not long now before his up to speed.

If all goes well we will up his work rate next week.

To answer your question, we do not regret in anyway taking Vardi and it so good to have an owner who really cares. As you can see from our other liveries these are the only people we want.

Have a good weekend [Vardi will]

Look forward to seeing you in August.

Sorry if I've missed something, why are you looking for another horse when you had Vardi but sent him to UK, I'm just wondering, why couldn't you keep and ride him ?

Vardi has been diagnosed with severe side bone, there is a chance he many go completely lame and as I am currently living in the Netherlands (coming back to UK in 2 years) I did not want the risk of being unable to travel a lame horse and having to leave him in Holland.

Also should he worsen I want to get him to Rockley Farm for a Rehab and again did not want to travel a horse in discomfort from Holland to the UK to do this.

Also vet has said light work only preferably lots of hacking on soft ground which here
we are just not set up for as all our hacking locally is cycle paths.

So he has been sent over to my friend in the UK who owns a riding school to go on an exercise livery to see what level of work keeps him sound. Once we know that he can either go on a loan (to stay at her yard) or a light working livery. Then when I come back to the UK in 2 years he can come back to me either as a riding horse or a pasture puff.

What a lucky horse and a lovely owner, i really hope this story has a great ending.
