well, Smokey had his lung scope on tuesday and they have found inflammation there and some nasty bacteria that they are 'growing' in the lab over the weekend to ascertain what antibiotics he is going to be treated with, thank god - a result of some sort. he's looking very flat so i hope this is the answer i've been looking for all summer. as far as his liver and red and white blood cell test results - they came out fine!? i asked the vet about kidney disease and he said he would have been drinking a lot more than he is and generally seem quite ill with it. he's still a little lame where he stood on his own leg trying to get away from the dreaded purple spray i was applying to his opposite leg so keeping my fingers crossed that will clear up ok and he will be feeling a bit better in a couple of weeks. i have been left a handfull of bute because if the antibiotics don't make him better he will have to go on a bute trial to see if he is suffering pain anywhere.

so is liver is coping well with what you are doing? hopefully they can get some good drugs sorted for him then he can make a quick recovery. goodluck!

thanks babybells. i hope he shows some improvement, he does look ill now. his eyes are reddy yellow and he's losing his topline. keeping my fingers crossed.

Hi - good news of sorts - it is at least better to know what the problem is and so hopefully he can make a full recovery- good luck with the antibiotics - if he is a bit low i would recommend the visorbin - it has picked my boy up quite a bit.
