I posted my dilemma of what was I going to do with my four year old loon who has been on box rest following op on his back, to turn out or to lunge?
Well, bless 'im, he took the decision out of my hands yesterday. When I got to the yard he was going completly mental in his stable he was rearing up and then leaping 2ft in the air, I think he had finally lost the plot. So after a lengthy chat with my vet the decision was made to bring the impending day (Sat) forward to this morning.
So after 20 ACP in his breakfast and booted upto the eyeballs I turned him out into the school. I hate to think what he would have been like without the ACP cos he was a nutter today! As he galloped flat out around the school there were literal sparks flying off his feet as his shoes banged together. The neighbouring farmer had obviously been busy overnight and put poles and flags around his fields to scare birdies, well young squirt thought they were monsters and a very good reason to launch himself about, my god he's agile and rather larger than I remember. He was out for about 1 hour and clearly knackered when he came in but obviously happy and had rolled about ten times.
Back op is doing well and that's one huge step over and done with but OMG 've gotta ride him in Feb, well hopefully! PHEW!!!!

Scary! well done for being brave I bet he loved it!
