So the police turned up a little while ago. They fetched the crime scene officer out with them. I showed him round the yard as to what had been done. He said that due to the padlock being thrown in the water/mud its of no use to him but the rest of the damage he has taken pics of.

What makes today more interesting is the fact that I received a phone call from my neighbour stating that she had had an attempted breakin (no damage) but there was damage to my yard. I gave the attending police my mobile to listen to my answer machine for themselves - they also though it was interesting.

I spoke to the police, as ive seen that she has stated on FB that she has also suffered damage/graffiti etc. they said that she has only reported it this afternoon - how wierd is that? dont you find it odd that they dont report the damage straight away and that they dont want the police to come out and investigate it till tomorrow? the cynic in me is saying that this gives them time to do damage/graffiti.

Some great news is that the Polie have said that they will install covert cameras for me till we get ours sorted. so that is fantastic news.

It does all sound odd with your neighbours, doesn't it. Good news re cameras tho it is a shame that it has to come to that. Good luck on the search for tstolen stuff

I guess that is a little progress with the cameras for you.

I just hope they catch them! And i hope you get your stuff back.

I am sure you have seen the other threat from Mr W... but i am sending you (((hugs)) anyway because i cant really do anything else for you - sorry

doesnt it just - things dont add up in the slightest!
fantastic news about the camera, got to get intouch with another police lady to arrange it to be fitted.
ive thought of another place where my tack would be but need someone to go and investigate it for me as i doubt ill be allowed in.

thanks for the hugs PP they do mean a lot, i know not many on here can do much for me as in come over and help but the thoughts/hugs/vibes etc are gratefully received

Hey S
How are you feeling. Im glad the police are being really good in all this. And i do really hope that they get to the bottom of this.

Ps. just to let you know sorry for the OMG! But i genuinely feel very sorry for you and was totally shocked. But some one (mrwoof) Has opened a new thread and moaned about it.

They have just peed me off a bit.

Did you get a list of what was all stolen?
If there is any thing i can help with like borrowing stuff i dont mind seeing what i have and sending it to you.

xx

Might be beneficial for the police to visit 'as they're in the area' on the off chance the neighbours were in today, I would have thought? It's an offence to waste police time.
Was any of your stolen stuff marked? Are there any tack shops locally that take 2nd hand stuff?
You could also ask about marking your stuff with smart water - this is a unique to you product you mark your property with, and it can be traced back to you.

thank you for your kind words E. thank you for the kind offer of tack but im grounded what with the weather atm and thankfully i dont keep my saddles down at the yard - i wont be keeping any tack down there from now on. But im even more so grounded what without the use of the trailer for the mo lol.
Yes ive read the thread and hoped that I hadnt caused offence to anyone as all the hugs etc are all gratefully received. i know most people cant do a thing for me but the moral suppoert is fantastic

Been reading these with my mouth wide open but haven't posted - just to say I do hope you get sorted and they find whoever did this soon.

Hope the horses are settling ok after all the disturbance.

what with everything going off since August the police do regular drop ins to my land but obviously its not stopped or deterred them.
no my tack wasnt marked but the next lot will be and certainly not kept at the yard (well it will all be hand made the next lot so itll be special).
yes there is somewhere local that sells 2nd hand tack and its only just dawned on me this afternoon so will be making a trip down there.
weve spoke to the police about smartwater and weve had mixed responces from them about it

the horses are good ta, tucking in to their haylage and very content - thank god they dont live in on a night! i just hope they upset my big hos and she went for them!

You need a guard Shetland - you might be picking bits of burglar out of the concrete for a few weeks, but they won't come back twice...

I'm glad they're ok, hope that you get sorted too!

I'm glad the police have been helpful and hope it all ends well. I cant understand why someone would be so vile. Get a husky lol, they're cuter and will out run person/car!

Glad things are taking a step in the right direction for you. Your neighbours sound like some really dodgy pikeys and hope they get caught for what they have done.

Hope you're ok & get sorted, but don't think I would have posted on here that I was getting covert cameras, it is after all a public forum.

At least the police are being useful thats a good start...
we have thought about getting a couple of dogs to roam around but I can't bring it in my heart to leave a dog out like that....so for now we have put a sign up "beware of dogs" and my terrier makes enough noise when he's at the yard with me to make people think that maybe there is a dog

We have recently purchased a brilliant paddlock off e-bay for our main gate it has a built in alarm that goes of if someone shakes it violently (as in someone started to bash it about) it warns you and then goes off if carried on being tampered with..very loud alarm too..and a very robust padlock and at £19.99 really can't complain about that! starting to sound like an e-bay addict here now

Glad the police are helping you out. We have had similar issues and got an alarm system for about £100 which came with laods of useful things like door sensor alarms for stable doors/tack room, and motion detectors and a VERY loud siren!
The police have left a cctv van on our drive... and they left the keys!!! I'm tempted to go for a ride!!
People keep telling us ot get guard dogs, but thats a huge responsibility and I don't think I can offer a large dog a happy home to be honest.
Good luck and I hope you get things back to normal asap. xx

Daisy. Can I seriously suggest you don't say any more on this forum about the investigation or any other steps being taken. You have no idea who might be reading and while it may seem far fetched and unlikely, anything you type here might in the future affect a prosecution.

Also please ignore anybody who recommends leaving a large hungry dog at the yard - that is not good advice
