Upside down parrot mouth

Has anyone experienced this where the bottom jaw has overshot the top jaw?

We bought a young horse from the sales and this morning there was blood everywhere where the gum inside is bleeding. He has 2 of his baby teeth int he correct place at the back of the bottom front teeth, then the rest of his jaw is over shot. The bit between the 2 teeth in the right place and the overshot part is very soft and membraney substance. This is where the blood is coming from.
We are on the assumption the colt has bashed his bottom jaw on the stable door which has caused his top teeth to penetrate through the jaw.

Just wanted to see whether anyone has experienced this and whether its likely to cause future problems or whether anyone has had corrective surgery or such like.

Is it possible he's fractured the jaw - or pulled off a couple of the teeth - the alveolar cavity in front of baby teeth is pretty thin and breaks easily- the teeth then pop forwards - same if part of jaw fractured - I've had 2 stallions do same biting hinged on back of top doors - getting stuck, pulling back and busting bottom jaw.
