Was my 2nd attempt at novice after the disaster of Broadway in May!
Yak was a bit sparky doing the warm up and kept getting really tense but he was off the leg. Went into the arena and was ok test but not as nice as he can do but not surprising as he has had no schooling for weeks. Looked at scores and had a 41 which I was disappointed with until I read the sheet and it was my fault as inaccurate 4 times including forgetting give and retake twice so should have been a 38 whih would have been fairer.
On to the bogey of SJ which was running 40 mins late. I chose a number on the board which I thought was 10 in front of me and then when she went into ring I started warming up except I was then told 2 to go whoops cocked that one up. Popped fences once each then went in. Did a good round nerves did not paralyse me and had 3 down which delighted me as never done a 1.10 cold before.
Onto xc feeling very nervous as done no xc since June. Horse was fab bit green in places, helped me out a couple of times and otherwise was brill. He has really got the hang of it. Ended up with just 4 time pens which made me even more pleased.
So have finally beat the demons of novice and hopefully he will carry on improving. Feel so excited as this horse has not been easy but today he made it seem effortless.

So pleased you went clear XC, you did look very relaxed and confident when we saw you so I'm not surprised!
Onwards and upwards......

Fabulous fabulous fabulous! Great video and great result. If I can do that well in a couple of weeks I will be very pleased!

T you would be so impressed I was so calm Sj! Even warming up was fine and did not get panicked while hanging around for 40 mins as that is what we had done all week and I knew it would be ok. In fact did not get panicked when one to go and I had not jumped a bean! Dorset was the best money I could ever have spent.

I really hope I am the same! I am not jumping this week so that I feel the benefit on Sunday, but i need the feeling to keep going fr the week after really. Maybe I could borrow Rodney for Goring to come and stand next to me to recreate the Dorset feeling?!

Keep looking at the photos! It will be fine. The PN will set you up perfectly. What day are you at Goring?

That's brilliant and great video - well done you. He looks super and so settled & confident - how exciting.
How wierd to have Urchinwood in the sunshine and how funny that the course is identical every year - bit like Hickstead!

Over the moon for you guys

youve come a long way, and that canter is 100% better from when i saw you at Pontispool.

Huge congrats on a super speedy round.

Goodness, your horse looks like he just steps over the jumps, that bodes well for the future

West Wilts next and a lot of lessons. I look like a sack of Potatos and my position is horrible. I just seem to flobber all over the place. Unfortunately having Kitty Boggis go before you is never good as has appeared on all my video and makes me realise how much work I have to do. Sometimes ignorance is bliss!!
