Hi,
I am currently loaning a horse from a woman who has been reported to the RSPCA several times. She has several horses, however i took the worst of the bunch. This gelding was in a dire state when we got him, and we reported her to the RSPCA who came to look at the boy and said it was a deffinate case of neglect (skin and bones and cuts and wounds). However they never did anything about it.
I have recently found out that the owner wants the horse back, and obviously i cant stand to send him back to this place, he is looking amazing now! I also cant afford to buy him from her! Do i have any come back to save him???
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Gosh what a sad story!!!

Good on you for taking him on, but I think you only have two options, either try to buy him or you will have to return him. The woman is still the owner, the horse is in good condition and until she neglects him again there is nothing you can do. Very sad conclusion, but I don't think you have any other options, sorry!

Agree with this. I think, sadly, your options are limited. He is still her horse and if she wants him back there is not a lot you can do about it. Could you offer to buy him paying in installments maybe? How bad are her other horses - are they sufficiently bad that the RSPCA might like to call on her (might keep her otherwise occupied and therefore not gagging to get her old horse back!)

Make her a low offer for him, what ever you can afford. Let her come back either with an acceptable price for him or an outright rejection.

If she doesn't want to sell there is very little you can do, apart from keep an eye out and report any future problems to the BHS and RSPCA.

If she does hopefully you will be able to work something out that is affordable for you.
