Appreciate your honest thoughts

:)

hi

kimbers yes very nice people and place
lakeside- no way!! pm for details
hornbuckle my friend runs so yes! :) great school and amazing hacking!

what are you looking for as i know other places in the area too :)

same as others, Know people that are happy at kimbers, and know joe from the jumping circuit a few years back, nice bloke. Not lakeside PM if you want more details!!
What sort of livery are you looking for a what are you doing ie, hacking competing horse or pony know a few others and where exactly are you from know some others slightly futher out.:)

I am a livery AT Denbies. Been there for a very long time-just had a new YO in there who is lovely. Littleme on here is also involved with the yard. OP you do seem to be covering a large catchment area for yards if you are looking between Windsor and Dorking!

If it is the Palmrers Yard in Princes Risborough (near Wycombe) then I would heartily recommend it for the facilities. I used to be a livery there before I moved out of the area and I adored everything about it.

It has recently been taken over by a YO who I am not aware of re experience so couldn't vouch for that or what their prices are, but in so far as what the yard itself can offer, I would give it the thumbs up.

What livery are you looking for and where? May be able to recommend some others in the Wycombe area for you?

I have had mine at Denbies for years, only don't know as sold pony to go to uni. Definately recommend it though. Yard/staff/location everything great :)

My horse is at headingly stables, and the owner jo can not do enough to help, everyone is so friendly and when my horse went back to hospital jo was my rock. the yard is immaculate and the hacking and new arena is superb

Thanks everyone. As I'm on the edge of West London, I can get to Windsor areas or Surrey within about 30 minutes. I'm looking for moderate facilities for about £500 a month for part livery and a friendly yard. No drama. Just bought my horse - may compete him eventually but be nice to go with a few other like minded people. Lakeside isn't receiving any nice reviews but glad Kimbers is. They are full at the moment though.

am i mental - whats included for £500 a month?

I know a few more towards the Surrey end, just off the m25 but very near Windsor great park that can recommend I'm on my phone at the minute but will try and remember to put the links in tomorrow or pm me and I'll do it that way, know both yards really well and both provide a good service.

Can I just ask what is wrong with Lakeside? I have a friend that liveries there & has done for some time & she is very happy?!?! I went to look at it before I moved to where I am (in Holyport BTW!) the facilities are great it was just a little pricey for me.

Kimbers is very popular & a very nice yard.

My friend runs Mount Scippets which is just up the road from me, lovely yard & great facilities, will probably be in your price range, I can PM you her details if you want??

Joey and Zoe Louise - would love to hear more of your suggestions. I dont know why people don't like Lakeside; I'm just reading the responses to my thread. For £460 at the moment I get all day to day care minus exercise and tack cleaning. He is fed, mucked out, turned out, brought in, fed lunch, rugs swapped over etc, skipped out and finished off and the yard is in Surrey. Limited hacking though and turnout.

Hi here are the 2 links for you the first is in chobham, surrey direct hacking onto chobham commen and can highly reccomend the girl there very high standards. The second link is old windsor about 1 min from runneymead, it has direct hacking onto windsor great park, i know the lady who runs it again Claire shes lovely. Would keep my pony at both but im a Diyer and both out of my budget. :(

How far would you travel? I'm at a lovely yard just outside Hurst village, RG10 postcode, about 15 mins travel from Kimbers (using back roads), or 10 mins off the M4 at Junction 10.

I echo zoelouise, Tile Place is lovely but quite pricey (another reason we didnt move there as it was such a lovely yard :( ) She only does assisted livery or part/full.
I will PM you my friends number as she may be in your budget :)

It's www.keyersbridge.co.uk. Very friendly yard. May be full at the mo (depends if YO is going to rent her own stables as she has 2 living out for a few months), but someone's leaving at the end of this month/early next month, so 2 stables available from then. I'm sure Sue will fill you in if you give her a call anyway :) Lots of pics on the Gallery section - my mare is the chestnut lying down. They also have a FB page http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Keyersbridge/122129411173602, lots more pics on there :)

Can agree with the recommendation for Tile Place. Moved my boy there recently he settled really well and have found the staff and other liveries friendly and helpful. Hacking is great straight into the Great Park and facilities good. Sounds like part livery is what you want and should be in your budget. Good luck with your search pm me if you need any further info.

Might be worth listing your key priorities and also looking carefully at where you want to travel to and the times. That really might help you make up your mind! and try to work out your priorities before you go looking so you don't get caught up (like I would!).

30 mins into Surrey or Windsor so you must be near the M4. I now live in Surrey but have always been based work wise down the M4 so could pretty much give you a day to day guide as to what to expect traffic wise. Do check out the hacking on offer though as everyone has different ideas of what constitutes good hacking. I have always thought each previous yard I was at had great hacking but that was because I was brought up in an area that was clay - so anywhere you could hack out without going hock deep in mud was blooming fantastic in my mind! Now I am spoilt but deserve it after years on clay!

Final thing as you will be travelling a distance - worth asking if the yard has a "close" time on it, and who else goes down in the evenings after work. Nearly made that mistake before!

I've been at Lodge liveries. Didn't particularly like it - horse care very good but YO a bit odd, tack room very small, you get a locker and the saddle room is really very cramped. Facilities are good although the indoor school does get busy as it shared with the other yard. the other yard on the same site (cobham park) I have also been on and would highly recommend. Lovely YO and friendly yard. No worries about standard of care either. More storage space than Lodge liveries and more self contained.
Hacking is good, so long as your horse is ok with about 5 minutes of roadwork to get a NT common and loads of routes.
Have heard good things about Denbies but never been there as it was that bit too far out for me!
