Sat here in tears. Hoping someone will be able to help.

As lots of you know, we've had a tough 6 months with Josie completely doing her suspensory, surgery or PTS were the only options.

She's recovered well, better than expected, but still a long way to go.

She's out in the big field now. There is one mare there, who is terrible, she's smashed one horses leg, kicked another's eye, put a hole in anothers bum and chases continuously.

Now the thing that gets me, is the owner doesn't come down to this mare, she gets done by pittying people on the yard.

Josie has been going out in the morning, and the mare after, so Josie doesn't get chased. She's still not meant to be doing canter work for another 6 months.

This morning, yard owner comes and says mare has to go out all day, as it's not fair it being stuck in, as other people are having to muck it out.

I've just been down and put her out with the them all. Josie now has 2 cuts, and has been chased for half an hour solid. What I'm going to find later, who knows. Honestly, I might be putting her down, as I cant see her leg standing up to all that.

She's in her stable calming down now.

Daughter of YO came down and asked what the fuss was about. I explained. She said there's always a drama with me and it's prob better I just F*ck (sorry) off. The mare's going out, as the others all deal with it ok, and thats that!

I have no where to go! I'm so upset. I know they dont like me and my horse, they never have. I moved last year because of it, but it didn't work out because Josie was out with a rig, and having hormonne probs, it didn't help.

I need her out to keep her sane. We can only walk and trot for another 6months, not eneough work to keep her sane, without turnout, and, she's a horse, she needs tuing out.

Ideally I need somewhere she'll be out for at least 6 hours, not in a huge group. Decent menage, and people to ride with, she's V nappy.

Please Please help. I've struggled for 6 months with this, she's my pride and joy, but feel like I'm going to fall at the last hurdle now.

Sorry it's been so long, and a bit garbled, cant shake the image of her being chased through 25 acres with that bad leg out of my mind.

Can't help but am very sorry to hear this. What an awful predicament. YO's daughter sounds delightful.
Hope someone comes up with something useful for you.

Ok. Pop a post up headline - Urgent Livery Needed, Essex area.

What an awful state of affairs. And if the other horse is that dangerous, what on earth is she donig out with others.

Sorry to hear this. I'd be looking to move her asap. There must be somewhere else in the area she can go to, even if it's just out as a companion to someone in a field surely?

YO's daughter sounds like a cow. I wouldn't want to be on a yard like that for my sanity as well as my horse's well being.

Hope you get something sorted soon.

how awful
wasnt there a post on here a couple of days ago from cazrider ?
about looking for a friend for her 15hh gelding.
she was offering quiet livery for £25 a week in essex.
hope she sees your post
and good luck x

I'm in Hornchurch/Romford.

Thanks for your replies and pms so far. Am absolutley desperate. My frield just called, has a lovely yard, near thorndon, but has a waiting list.

I want my little girl out and safe. With people that understand she has to be looked after.

Really? I'll go search

First of all (((hugs))) there will be a yard out there that is ideal for you.

Secondly, anyone who told me to f*** off a yard, would get exactly that!!!! Not exactly excellent customer service is it?!!!

Find a better yard, arrange to leave, tell the YO the night before, and pay up all dues, then get out of there!

I'm amazed at this really, thank God I no longer have to be on livery!! I sometimes wonder how they get customers!!

There is big history with me and YO daughter, We grew up together, she has a huge chip on her shoulder. I have never disliked someone as much as her.

She caught me at a hige low, so went for the jugular. For once I stood up for myslef. I'm so shy and lack confidence, it makes it easy for her have a go. But the one thing that gets me fighting is my pony!

I just want her out. The sooner the better.

1st off, calm down, deep breaths, getting upset won't help Josie,

Calmly start looking for new yard, look online, in admag, ask around and drive about, if you see perfect place, politly enquire, calmly, without blaming or being unpleasant in any way about present Y/O about the possibility of moving there, check you can get the kind of turn out you need.

If you can get what you need and the place and people seem nice, politely hand in your notice on current yard and move asap!

Remember horses are a small world and it is important not to moan or bitch about present yard, atleast while you are still there!!

Sorry I can't suggest anywhere for you as i am too far away.

Will Y/O not allow you to electric fence off a section for her? maybe a less than perfect yard will let you do this and so will become perfect for Josie?

Some yards are bitchy unpleasant places and I appreciate that, but, before you move have a look at how you have conducted yourself there and highlight anything you think people may have reacted to more favourably had you done it a different way.

Thankyou.

Instructor has just been on phone, and has pointed me in the right direction of a few places.

I had her in electric fencing, for 3 months. She jumped out and got herself so wound up, it was doing her more harm than good.

I think there's a spare stable at my yard at the moment, might suit for the interim? You know where it is don't you?

Poor Josie, she doesn't have much luck!

Where about in Essex are you ? You need to move asap for your horses sake and your sanity, what's the matter with your YO ? Can't they see what will happen if your mare is turned out like this ? XX
Just seen where you are......I'm miles away in North Essex so can't offer any help, sorry & wish you luck XX

Thanks evryone for your replies.

I have just been to see a beautiful place. But typically they have no room. I'm at the top of the waiting list though.

So now, I either, hang it out, which I dont want to, or find her somewhere as a stop gap. I really hate moving her as she's a stress head anyway, and with that injury to add to it, it's not ideal!!

Sorry I can't help, but I know exactly how you feel. My mare was turned out into winter grazing last week and immediately started getting bullied by these 2 new mares. It made her lame (she already has torn tendons so the last thing she needs), and the stable she was put in for box rest was only available up until Saturday. I moved her to my parents field at the weekend, and its not perfect yet but much much better than her being chased around. I know how desperate it feels to have to find somewhere quickly!

Hope you have some luck soon x

Good luck finding some where, what a nightmare situation. I'm a long way away so no suggestions but lots of good vibes make sure you keep us posted x
