Unfortunately, the home I found for Sasha has gone pear shaped going home It turns out that Sasha is great with the children, the cat, she is very responsive, intelligent, beautiful and smart but she doesn't get on with other dogs.

This could be a million reasons why, but she cannot stay with her new family as there lovely old boy has been hurt by Sasha.

We were told by the person at the pound she was fine with other dogs, except he hasn't told the truth. There could be a million reasons why she turned on the dog, she has been through a lot in the last 24 hours, she is also at the end of her season, but it could be anything. we cannot risk saying she is ok with other dogs when we are not sure she is. This is so sad. So people Sasha and I need your help.

She has until tomorrow, she will have to go back to the pound where she will be PTS the moment she arrives. I cannot have her in my home because of my hounds.

HELP

Oh no, was just about to reply on the other thread. I cant be of any help I'm afraid, I hope you can sort something asap

Bear in mind it may well be possible with the right management that this dog can live with others..... like you say she had been through a lot in 24hrs.

Hope a home is found for her soon.....

Agree: one of mine is terrible with other dogs but perfect at home.

Agree, it is actually a pretty long process to rehome a pound dog, as ideally it should be assessed before it goes to a new home and "back up" has to be in place so that if the home does not work out the dog has somewhere to temporarily stay.
As much as it is heartbreaking to see them in the pound and the threat of pts it's not as easy as it sounds just to take them and save them.
But I applaud anyone who tries.
It took me an average of about 3 months to rehome the pound dogs I took on and although each and everyone came across as dog aggressive they all went out to homes with other dogs but it takes time.

Good luck.

On another forum it says dog has been rehomed again. Don't know how its doing now.
Personally I think its very irresponsible for someone to take dogs from the pound and without any behaviour assessments send them off to new homes.
Rehoming organisations spend time and money making sure its going to work and don't just dump them in new homes.
