URGENT: home needed

I don't know if I am allowed to post this so sorry if I am not.

We are due to move to Malta in a week and we need to find an experienced home for a 2.5year old alaskan malamute bitch. She currently lives with 2 small/med sized dogs (corgi sized cross breed and working type springer) and is also good with other dogs she meets in the local dog park. She currently lives with 4 children from the age if 3years to 10years but would probably be better suited to a home with children from the age of 6/7 upwards due to her size.

We want to find her a home experienced in this breed because we don't want her passed to lots of different homes.

We are based in Dorset.
 
Seems you have left this rather to the last minute? One assumes you didn't just decide to move to Malta in the last week?!

How come the dog cannot go with you?

As suggested, you should really contact a specialist breed rescue as these dogs are not suitable for everyone.

You may end up having to delay your flight date!
 
Hi thanks for the replies. My parents had originally agreed to take her for 3-6 months so we could move her over in the autumn to allow her to gradually acclimatise to the climate rather than her going from this climate to what would be the height of summer here but my dad has changed his mind at the last minute hence this post. She hasn't had her passport etc done so can't come with us and the flight can't be delayed because the move is work related so isn't flexible.
 
As Cayla. Find her a foster home till her paperwork is done/the weather cools down.

Would one of your family friends not take her for a bit? A Westie in our village had to be left behind for a bit recently when his owners moved for 4 years to Australia. The little fella for some reason couldn't go when they did. He had an adoring foster home for 5 months with my neighbours, and then flew to Sydney.

It is very sad that your parents have let you, and more importantly the dog, down like this. A warning for the future...? I hope you can find a good solution, but it's all very lae to have to solve now!
 
It only takes three weeks for the passport so she could be kennelled with one of the shipping specialists.
As long as you have air con or swamp coolers there will be no problem with the climate difference.
 
Thanks for your replies. We have had some positive interest from friends of friends so hopefully we will find a temporary home for her until we can sort everything out.
