Urgent Notice: Potential Danger of Horse Hair... Posted: 28 Aug 2009 04:53 PM PDT
This is a public service announcement...

In a press release today, the National Institute of Health has announcedthe discovery of a potentially dangerous substance in the hair ofhorses. This substance, called "amobacter equuii" has been linked with thefollowing symptoms in females:
Reluctance to cook, clean or do housework.
Reluctance to wear make-up, good clothes or heels. Reluctance to spend money on home or car repairs until after "baby has new shoes, pad, blanket, tack, grain, hay & supplements".

"Amobacter equuii" usually results in long hours away from home and exhaustionwhich may lead to a loss of physical contact with other humans (especially husbands).

"Amobacter equuii" is thought to be addictive, driving the need foradditionalsources - this may lead to a "herd mentality" or like the potato chip commercial, "you can't have just one". Beware! If you come in contact with a female human infected by this substance, be prepared to talk about horses for hours.

Surgeon General's Warning: Horses are expensive, addictive, and may impair the ability to use common sense

I have been diagnosed with this condition

- it is considered life threatening and there is no known cure - all they can do is recommend managing it with frequent and regular exposure to horses. Going cold turkey is not an option and could be potentially more dangerous than regualr doses of horses. Was presecribed at least one visit to horse a day - 2 is ideal and expect severe withdrawal symtoms if not allowed to visit in over 3 days........

I have this too.

It went into remission for a while, but a few years ago I got it back worse than ever.

Sadly- I have now also infected OH and daughter.

Fortunately- son remains immune so there is hope.....

Tragically it also forces you to sell a lovely sporty car in order to buy a stinking 4x4 and leaves you perfectly happy to enter the corner shop stinking of horse wee and looking like a bag-lady.

I was diagnosed with the condition at the age of four although it was only minor. My condition is now a lot worse and it takes control of my mind, body and soul in ways I cannot explain.

P.S. Sorting transport for my new filly tomorrow.

Definitely incurable.
