There will be those in the West Country, and elsewhere too, who have land which is underwater.

For those who keep sheep. I have room for 600 ewes, there will be no charge, so if you know of anyone who has sheep at risk of drowning, then put them in touch with me.

Alec.

You might want to extend this to the North East.

Today the A1 was displaying messages advising drivers to avoid the north east of England. Big area.

Bless you Alec: we're well up above the floods here (if it gets here we're ALL in serious trouble :)) but unfortunately I don't have any room at the moment.

But it would be good wouldn't it, to get a List going on HHO of people that can and will take stock/horses in an emergency like this - watching the news I've wondered about people with horses and know that if the waters rose where my horses were I'd be absolutely frantic about them and it would be good to be able to ring someone in an emergency and say please can you take them until the waters subside.

Do any of you have access to local media outlets? Do you have access to your local radio stations? Do you do Facebook?

I suspect that in the worst affected areas, your local radio stations will be the best way of making the offer available.

At a push, I could find others who will help and who have land, I feel sure. This is only open to those who have nowhere else to turn.

Would those of you, in the worst affected areas, seek out those who need help, please?

Someone asked "Where"..... Norfolk.

Thank you for your help.

Alec.

Alec, you are a star, we'll pick them up after lambing?
On a serous note that is an incredibly generous offer, we have been very lucky, but there is still a huge amount of water everywhere.
FWI (Farmers Weekly) forum may be worth a shot.

We got cows.. wet but not underwater, just making a muddy mess. Barn roof got holes, = wet barn, and while that is being fixed some cows are back out making more muddy mess.
Alec, sounds like a fantastic offer. Thankyou.
