Urgent vibes needed please :(

So, so sorry.
It won't feel like it at the moment but in due course you will get some comfort from knowing that you were with him right through and did everything you could, including making the right decision. Hugs

was hoping for good news, this is heartbreaking for you. In time you will take comfort from knowing you were there for him, you didnt allow him to suffer and you made all the right decisions for him when you needed to be strong. A very brave owner and how I hope, if ever I need to be, I would be able to be as strong as you xx
 
I'm so, so sorry to hear the news. Yours was the first thread I checked this morning :( You did everything you could for him and eventually it will be a comfort knowing you were there to hold him.
 
So very sorry. It's so tough to lose a much loved friend like that. But you will be able to look back and know he had a good life with you, you got him the best care and made the brave decision to spare him pain in the end.

Oh, I am so sorry. I lost my old lad to colic a year gone May,and I do so feel for you. It's such an awful way to lose them, if indeed there is a good way. I know at the moment you are feeling bereft, but take comfort in the fact you were with him, and you did all you could for him.
I know its so hard, but I was in the same position, and you feel so bad, I know I still hurt. I hope your hurt lessens in time, and you can smile when you remember him. Like people say, don't cry because he has gone, smile because he was. Lots and lots of (((hugs))) to you xx

So sorry to hear that this was the outcome. It never feels fair or right, try and hold on to the happy memories of him, they will last for your life time.

I stayed with him all night cuddling him and walking him around, he seemed to pick up a little at about 3/4am and raised my hopes but at around 7 this morning took a dramatic turn for the worse and was in obvious pain so I had to make the heartbreaking decision to send him to sleep :( . I've never lost a horse before so didn't really know what to expect but it was a lot more peaceful than i thought it would be. I told him how much I loved him and that he wouldn't hurt any more, and I was holding him as he fell asleep - he even gave me a kiss before he went which turned me into a complete wreck. The vet has just left and I'm absolutely heartbroken, his stable is right outside my window / the door so there's no escaping it. Don't know what I'm going to do without my special golden boy, I can't remember him not being around :(

So sorry to hear this, it awful when theres nothing you can do to help them. Remember the good times, its what will get you through. RIP lovely boy xx
