Hes 29 i think and was a little lame the other day so was kept in, got turned out today in a differnt smaller field and we think hes gone down a rabbit hole

I pray it isn't!!! if it is of any consolation, an ex-racer at our place had a suspected broken leg. He was taken to the vets for an xray and it turned out to be a nasty infection in his hock joint from a past injury. Another one of my friends horses had a suspected broken leg and it was a fractured nearly the whole way through! With the vets treating him, 15 weeks tied up box rest, and gradual turnout, he is now living the life of leisure in the field xx

Its a toughie really, hes 29 with severe lami, is happy but hes getting on a bit. I dont think he could take the fighting!

Oh I see your point, age isn't on his side. My friend whos horse had a fractured leg did it when he was 11. It was on the vets advice she didn't have him pts, they thought he would pull through as he had age on his side. It was touch and go for a LONG time. Reflecting back on it, she said, as much as she loves her horse, all the pain and suffering he went through, if she had her time again, she would have chosen the other option. I hope it doesn't come to this for the horse at your yard, it has major effects throughout the yard xx
