Been to a lovely yard today in Sheffield which would take me about 50mins. Not sure how I would cope with driving that far? Have also considered moving to Beaverhall in Staffordshire but again it's at least an hour. Can't believe there's not a decent yard closer
I know the feeling. Where we live is serious horse country, but you try finding a good and friendly yard
Used to travel twenty-five miles each way, but became too much. The yard didn't have much turnout and was not the place for our neddies. Now rent a yard between two of us and six neds
We are looking at the possibility of renting a yard and offering livery because there must be a call for it round here. Been to 4 yards over last couple of days and none of them include grooming in their full livery - cheapest of which was £100

We bid on a yard earlier this year, with the aim of offering the things we had wanted when using a livery yard, but were outbid by the Coal Authority (so now instead of nice neddies, there's to be open cast mining or some such thing
).
If you offer grooming, will it be the full works or more like quartering? I ask because I worked on a yard many, many years ago and we spent up to an hour a day strapping horses (that's an hour per horse, don't know if it came out right lol) - good for getting fit!
My grooming would include a really good brush every day including manes and tails and spot watching if need be. Not strapping unless livery requested it but then that would be a bit extra money.
The moody's and Hannah Esberger - Shepherd were the nearest to Sheffield when I was at uni there. Also Daryl thicket and Sonia Webster were near by. Not sure if they still are but worth asking.
