I have had my gelding for a year now and have only recently noticed he doesn't drop his penis to pee. When he does drop it I have checked it carefully for lumps, bumps, redness, etc and it looks absolutely normal. He is fit and well in himself.
Is this something I should be concerned about or do other people have geldings who do this?

Mine doesn't drop his either and I used to be worried as well. The odd times I have seen it it looked gone and he has no problem weeing. A couple of friends also don't drop whereas other horses have got them swinging out at the drop of a hat.

I used to only have mares, but I now also have 3 geldings. They all seem to have different preferences when it comes to wee'ing! One does not drop at all to wee, but will drop at other times when he's very relaxed. Another drops most times to wee, and I think the third does as well.
