Urticaria - Nettle rash

Has anyone got any suggestion on how to treat this? My mare has come out in softish lumps that are sensitive when you touch them, she flinches. No change in any of her routine so I am presuming its a reaction to grass or something in it.

Piriton.. Or ask your vet for a suitable antihistamin!

Normal over the counter stuff? and what sort of quantities?

Yub we used to give 8 i think.. dont quote me..

Keep her cool, don't use any products other than tepid water on the lumps and check with your vet for antihistamines or steroids if it becomes acute. Adding nettle tea or the homoeopathic remedy urtica to feed can also help

Our vet prescribed bute initially but when that didn't work she had to have a steroid injection.
