Use a liner as a stable rug?

Can you use a liner as a stable rug?
I have a Derby house one
Can Chuck a fleece over it?
i usually use turnouts but need something easy to clean at home as he has rain rot and cleaning his fleece a lot to stop reinfection but he’s ripped the fleece a bit

Liners are typically slippery, can you clip the back clips onto the fleece to hold it in place?

You can with the Bucas ones as the belly straps clip on/off. Can't with Weatherbeata ones though. Unless you used a separate surcingle , I suppose.

I use them under a fleece or if on its own, with an elastic surcingle.

Or just a cotton sheet under your normal rug maybe?

I do this with derby house and weatherbeeta liners. I use a decathlon cotton sheet with leg straps as my top sheet. Never had any problems

Some liners have a surcingle my Swish one does but I often put a fleece over the top I just clip the back on the same as you would a turnout rug they never slip.
