This may be a daft question, I see lots of people mentioning putting people on UI, what does this do exactly? Does it mean if you have someone on UI you cant see anything they post AT ALL? Or that they cant respond to your posts or what? I've never used it

but was curious!

You see

**you are ignoring this user**

But if someone quotes them, you can read the quoted posts. You can't receive or send them PMs either, I think.
They can respond to you, but you won't be able to see them unless a friendly HHOer obliges

I have been sorely tempted over the last week because of a lot of bullcrap being written, but hey, I'm way too nosey

You will be able to see when they post but not what they post and they won't be able to PM you.
I've used in in the past to stop me being drawn into an arguement

Its a useful tool

So if they respond to something you've said and are 'nasty' you cant see it but everyone else can?

I think I'd rather be able to see it myself if all others can, and then respond accordingly!

Can you un-ignore people or is it forever?

It is more useful for stopping people PMing you than avoiding reading their posts. If they post on your thread you can just press the quote function and see what they said anyway!

You can un-ignore them anytime you like yes. I just use it to stop myself getting drawn into spats and to stop unwanted PM's.

It's a great facility although thankfully rarely needed. I used it on one poster when I first joined, never needed it since.
