How many bales do you use per week per horse and how much time do your horses spend in? Are they on rubber?

I use 3.5 bales per week and they are on rubber, but I like them to have a good bed with banks.

Thanks

2 bales a week, he's in overnight for about 15/16 hours. About average cleanliness.

But it seems to disappear into nothing! Have just switched back to Mendip large flake shavings which seem to last longer and not turn into 'nothing' like the Bedmax do. Must be something to do with the way I wield my shavings fork...

I deep litter (no rubber matting) during the week and take out the wet stuff each weekend. I use 2 bales/week in winter and 1 bale/week in summer. she is in at night in winter and in during the day in summer. every so often i put in a bag of cheap shavings and mix them through as they help soak up the pee. She loves her bedmax bed and spends a lot of time during the day lying down snoring! its a hard life.

1 to 2 x bales, with rubber. Dirty mare out at nights, in the winter use 2 to 3 x bales per week, with horse out during the day.

In 12 hrs daily - no rubber 12 x 12 boxes

Messy mare - 1 1/2 bales per week bed approx 5" deep

Clean gelding - 1 bale every 10 days or so - bed approx 6-7" deep

Both mucked out fully and put up daily

I can't believe how much I am using!

He is in for about 20 hours a day (due to restricted turnout and being a loon when turned out) and on rubber!

I have tried to cut down in the past but he seems to bump himself if I do!

That's really strange as we find it very absorbent with the messy wet mare (pee's up to 6 times a night in different places and worse when in season) Most absorbent bedding we've found

We are talking about the big woodflakes in bright yellow bales?
