Usually used with pelhams. You can also buy reins that split into two.

Use with two reins, some riders often choose to use roundings for better control and less faffing about as it can be a safer option when XC/hunting etc but others use just bung them on straight away without actually understanding what their using and applying the bit in the way it was designed to work.
