Using Horse as Chairs at Shows?

After reading this thread at an ODE on Sunday I was very concious to get off and loosen girth when there was a hold up on course that looked like it was going to be a substantial delay. I noticed no one else did.
Must admit I wish there was a mounting block, kept having to jump from a stone,bit annoying after a while.
