I actually give Kal a tub trug with hay in it without securing it . . . yes, he upends it and the hay goes everywhere, but finding it in his bedding gives him something to do. I put the tub trug near his door where he doesn't wee or poo . . . plus the empty tub trug serves as a toy 
. I also give him some hay in a net so that if he gobbles up all the hay in the trug too quickly he has to work for the hay in the net.
