I recently sold a saddle to a girl and she cameans bought it without trying it as she lived over an hour away from me. It was a lovely saddle with nothing wrong with it but I notice she is now selling it herself but using my photograph. Would you be annoyed or am I just being silly ?

Yup, you can be annoyed about it but IMO and experience, it's not worth it. The main point is that you have sold your saddle, that's all that you set out to do, its done. Why get yourself worked up about the fact that she's used your picture.

The same thing happened to me, I sold an Albion dressage saddle, a chappie brought it from me for full price without seeing it, fine, not a problem. He then relisted the saddle using the photo I'd taken and sold the saddle. Initially I was really cross about it, but then when I'd calmed down I worked out that I'd sold the saddle, I'd achieved what I'd set out to achieve and I then let it go.

I'm not sure how you can stop this happening unless you copywrite (sp) the image, as to how to do that, I don't know!

have had the same happen to me but it was pictures of my daughters pony... with her on him! at first i thought what a bloody cheek but then i thought, well i put them on the internet in the first place when i advertised him so what's the difference really, i would have been happier if she had asked first though just out of courtesy.

It may be she has no way of uploading her own pic.

I sold a bit, and a saddle on Ebay, i'd done similar, brought it as a medium/wide fit, thinking for the price i paid i could have it adjusted, saddler said it would be to much work and probably would never fit properly, tried to sell on Ebay not interest without pic and had no way at the time of uploading a pic so used the one in the advert i had brought it from.

Although i did send a email asking first and explaining situation and saying i wasnt trying to blame anyone for it not fitting, just wanted use of pics.

I can see why you would be annoyed about a picture being published that contained you/ your family/ address etc. I guess strictly speaking it contrevenes copyright laws as they do not have permission to use it but does it matter, it is just an object? Like someone else says the seller would just need to take a picture of exactly the same saddle which would look very similar- strictly speaking they should have contacted you for permission but have a bar of chocolate and forget about it :D.
