Ok, this is about two months late, but I've had the busiest summer ever. A very small selection of photos from the Fritzens CDI, Austria!

Jade getting ready for the prize giving. So nice to see a horse being bandaged / looked after by his own rider. So unusual too ;) You can spot Valegro in the background!

What a temperament Uthopia must have to leave the window open and allow anyone just to pet him. Brilliant photos. I have to say your photos have completely piqued my interest in dressage this year and I am much more clued up now.

BEAUTIFUL photos FrodoB, love the one of the arena with the sky looking so dramatic, and countless stunning action shots too. Was Sandman being ridden like that in his test (bradoon reins one hand, curb the other)?

Fabulous photos. Wow wow wow at the scenery! What an incredible setting. Some truely spectacular horses but so many of them look totally stressed out in their eyes in the ridden pics. In the close up head shot of Valegro (2nd pic down in second batch of photos), it puts me in mind of the face of a cartoon dragon somehow.

YES tigers_eye well spotted!!

I know what you mean about that arena shot, it was such a glorious day - I feel so stupid because with all these fabulous horses performing GREAT dressage I keep going back to admire that (empty) arena shot LOL!!

And in the same pic, it looks like a really strange swelling on Valegros face, just under the noseband and near the bit ring. Unless it's a shadow or something?

Uhm PoppyAnderson I did notice it...probably a bite or something?

To be honest none of the horses looked stressed to me. I found it amazing that Fiona Bigwood's horse, Wie Atlantico had to contend with a loose dog IN the arena for a large part of his test and just continued without blinking. I thought that was remarkable!

NicoleS, Laura B wasn't competing in Austria.

blood_magik, Valentina did a line of one-tempis with just one hand....

Not when I was there, no - although I spent very little time by the warm-up arena as in Fritzens the warm-up arena is quite a long way off (relatively speaking!) so not so easy to hop back and forth (unlike, say, Munich or Hagen where the warm-up is literally next to the competition arena)

Hmm, I suspected there wouldn't be.
