Er no, the minute a bone or trimming is considered to be pet food it IS pet food (as opposed to human food) - not an animal by-product.

And they can give it to DEFRA approved hunts! So of course it's pet food. Barmy.

Isn't this story from 2004 though? At least that seems to be when BBC last updated it. In which case it doesn't seem to have made much difference during the past 6 years, since plenty of people still seem to use the butcher to get bones.
