OMG I am so sorry, What an awful awful shame she was taken from you at such a young age. I cant imagine how you must be feeling.
She was a beautiful girl.
Oh that's terrible news & such a shock for you.
Pokey was beautiful. I too lost my beloved lad who I had owned since he was 6 months old, I know exactly how you are feeling. I couldn't even eat for days & was devastated. He can never be replaced but, I am so proud to have owned him. Time is a great healer (although you will not believe it at the moment). The day after I lost him, my Mum took me out to try to get my mind off of what had happened. We called into the garden centre & whilst walking around I came across a stone with the following inscribed on it......
If tears could build a stairway
and memories build a lane
I'd walk right upto heaven
& bring you home again.
I couldn't believe what I was seeing, it was and still is exactly how I felt.
Two weeks after, my YO lost her young mare to grass sickness it was very sudden & at first we had no idea just how ill she was. She had only had her for 5 weeks & we both felt so guilty that this poor mare hardly knew us & was suffering so badly with relative strangers. She was just quiet and not interested in food. It quickly took over her & she got to the stage that the poor love couldn't even swallow.
You MUST remember that Pokey loved you as much as you did her & she will have known that you did everything you could for her.
Don't be afraid to let out your grief, anger & utter shock at what has happened. We are all here for you xxxxxxx
I cried so much when I read this post last night.
My heart goes out to you. We lost my sons beautifull, talented young mare in a horrific accident last year.
I know the intense, unbearable pain you must be feeling.
It does get easier given time. Until then our thoughts are with you. God blessX
