had to wash an orange mosnter into a sparkling white horse last night- took me about 2 1/2 hours of battling with him to not bite me lol.... finally finished that, plaited him up- ok plaits, im an awful plaiter and put him to bed
woke up at 7:15 and cycled up to go and feed him- very pleased to see me with a bucket for him!!
set off at 8:30, arrived just before 10:30- long journey! got barney out, looking lovely! all nice and clean
tacked him up in his new dressage numnah and tack, went over to warm up- had 30 mins, warmed up really nicely, a little distracted but nicely
went over to arena- in a good spot, far away from all other horses, as i was going over he heard some people on the other side of the hedge, cue him having to stare at the ehdge for 10 mins, finally got over to the car, nice judge
horse was distracted but put in a good test, not one of the best but got us a middle of the range score, which i was v pleased with
onto showjumping- it was causing a lot of problems, with very few going clear, warmed barney up- he was getting in a bit close to them but was jumping carefully, was a very up to height 1.05m which was good....went over the first, X pole with straight bar back to a dog leg over an upright, round the corner to a big spread with fillers, came round disunited, bless him he flew it an donto the planks, still disunited
still flew it, very careful! came back to trot to sort out canter and onto the double, hopped through nicely and onto the next upright, took very sharp turn but he managed fine, turned right to the spread, launched over it, really flew it, over the skinny upright and onto the last triplee, jumped through nicely
a lovely clear round
lots of compliments from watchers which was nice... had about 30 mins till i had to get on for XC, changed into my cool XC colours- birght green and bright red!!
went over to warm up- very annoying lady who decided she wanted to pick everyone to peices on everything, first it was my boots as theyre not fully smooth- never had anyone say this before as they are preety much smooth, then onto my martingale- was too loose, again no one had ever said anything before in the 2 years ive had him, then onto the fact i wasnt wearing a hairnet! she said i couldnt go without one!! so put one on and she finally let me go... the tack check i had had for my dressage had nothing wrong!!
oh well, warmed up nicely, very keen, but not too strong! set off over the first two and came to the red cartridges, it had caused a lot of problems so rode determindely and kicked on- barney didnt even look at it, went on round to clear 4,5 and 6 very nicely, came to the steps, hopped down them at a good canter and up over the steps at number 8, and onto number 9 and then the logs on an angle at 10, cleared them all happily, onto the weird house thingy and then the water, had to kick on through water as he wanted to walk through lol
wetn back up the hill at a good gallop flew over the log skinny and onto the wavy logs on an angle, clear through there no problems and onto the last, jumped it appaulingly but was over the last ti finish on a double clear
cooled horse down and went to look at results- most people had showjumping faults, although not all, and some had XC faults- people had finished on 100,90 and 80 !!! so was pleased that i finished on what seemed to be a good score of 46.8, in comparison with the others in my section.... worked it out that i was in about 9th place, judging on some final scores, but mostly SJing scores, and some dressage scores...... so am very happy with my horse- hoping my placing will go up a bit, as still a few to SJ!
good day for me and horse
now have to decide if i want to move up to open or not! will post pictures up tommorow!
