I have had my horse on part-loan since January. he's used for lessons at a local school but i have him as mine for the remainder of the week, and i get to spend a lot of time with him. cost wise it has been perfect for me.

anway he's been a bit of a grump in the stable but is an absolute star to ride. over the last month i've noticed a real difference. i've been putting a lot of time in just grooming and looking after him as well as riding and there has been such a change in his manner over the last weeks (alot to do with living out now i'm sure). i'm so pleased and we have the makings of a real bond now as he definitely recognises me now and seems pleased to see me... i may be reading too much into it of course!

not a very exciting post really, i just really chuffed with the progress and the rewards i'm getting from all the time i've put in.

you sound like your giving the attention he forgot he derserves! Well done you- its a wonderful feeling to have a horse want to be around you rather than just putting up with your presence! Keep up the good work and it will come back to you tenfold!!

thanks, i think you're right about the attention thing. it's only the last month that he's started to respond, but it's all about getting used to each other, plus he had to settle in to his new home .

i'm getting so protective of him too. i always want to know who's riding him and if they're being nice enough to him!
