Decided to go out for a nice hack this a'noon as we had a bit of sunshine between the showers, but it turned out to be a pretty scary experience
I was walking along the usually quiet road between 2 of the bridleways when George and I heard a commotion round the bend and then coming towards us were 20 odd horses and traps, with the people shouting and waving sticks and the ponies trotting and cantering with some of the carts 2 abreast
George span round and started jigging about in the road but didn't try to hare off thank god. I got him facing the right way and tried to say calming things as they all shot past, shouting and laughing at me, and George just stood there shaking from head to foot
As soon as they went past I quickly got George moving ready to turn onto the bridlepath when I heard some of the lads yell 'lets go in the woods' and they spun their horse and carts round in the road and came up behind us
George nearly sat on one in his fear, but he kept moving and we got onto the bridlepath and thank goodness the traps went the other way.
I then stopped George and he stood quietly whilst we made sure they'd all gone, and we then turned around and he took me back to the yard quickly but calmly
bless his heart.
I was shaking when I got back, and I dread to think what would of happened if I had gone down the bridlepath they went down and I'd met them in the woods
Cookies if you've got this far, needed to get that out
