Doing so is off license, it may work but if your dog is insured and ends up with a vaccine related illness they may have questions. Generally I won't mix puppy vaccines but for annual (well, every 3 year) boosters those I am less fussy about. Plenty of clinics carry 2 or 3 lines of vaccine to facilitate new puppies.

We have discussed this in length when it happened, it is time to get confrontational! Poor Yogi!

I would not be paying or I would be asking for a refund for what you have paid
I don’t know where to go really
I have no real evidence against what they’re saying and they’re adamant he’s fully vaccinated and nothing was wrong even tho they lied about having versican in the first place but I can’t prove that either

I’m hoping some vet will take him and get his second jab and doesn’t upset him

Versican Plus DHPPi/L4 lyophilisate and solvent for suspension for injection for dogs

6.2 Incompatibilities
In the absence of compatibility studies, this veterinary medicinal product must not be mixed with other veterinary medicinal products.

That doesn't mean it is incompatible in terms of providing immunity. It means you shouldn't mix them in the same syringe and administer them

Glad you've got sorted.

In the mean time, he can meet fully vaccinated dogs belonging to friends. He can go out in your arms to meet people and see things (no petting unless they use hand gel first). Sit with him in the boot of the car at the local supermarket, carpark for the park etc. Socialising is much more about experiences and learning to focus on you than actually interacting with other dogs!

Thank you
I take him everywhere in the car with me i just find it frustrating to take him out in public
Just there in the vets office I had 2 dogs and a woman come up to me “to say hi” before I could even say he wasn’t vaccinated
I was holding him too but their dogs were up on the back legs trying to sniff him 😒
I feel like getting my dogs harnesses that say aggressive don’t touch (they’re not)

I swapped vets for the current two so they could have the correct second vaccine, there were other reasons, but that was a solidifying factor. I would not be happy that they’d said the one brand was compatible with another.

They’re not my usual vet! I called around because I couldn’t find the one he got his first shot with
Called them and they said they had it
Reconfirmed when they took him in (you’re not allowed to go in since covid)
Came out and was jabbed with the wrong thing and that’s when problem occurred
So now he has 3 and I’ve paid for an extra he shouldn’t have needed 😞

That's shocking that you were not allowed in, I have been in four different veterinary surgeries in the last few years in an 80 mile radius for various bits and bobs and have been allowed in each time. The last time was a few weeks ago for a rabies jab and I was literally standing beside the vet making sure the right stickers and details were going in the correct place because it's important no one makes mistakes - in future/for anyone else reading this, it's really worthwhile checking that everything is correct before you leave (as I once had a potentially catastrophic mistake with a passport).

That’s really odd. I’d want my money back and an apology, that might have had poor ramifications. There is no excuse for that.

I’m surprised they’re holding onto the Covid restrictions. When we had Zak pts in August ‘21, they did it outside, but since then, visits have been back to normal.

I'm amazed a vet is still not allowing owners in. I was able to go in with mine, masked, from mid 2021. I would be asking for a refund for the second vaccine as it was unlikely to be effective.
Incompatibility of vaccines is one reason why most breeders I know don't vaccinate before pups go to new homes at 8 weeks. You can always carry pups round for socialisation, I've done many a car boot sale with a GSD pup in my arms :)

Unfortunately they’re refusing to admit that they did anything wrong so it’s very unlikely I’ll get my money back.
They’re the only vet around me that still doesn’t let you in. It’s very strange but I just assume an owner may be high risk or something?

I’d wonder what their handling skills are like. During covid my dogs went in without me, but it’s not going to happen as standard. And I totally trust and rate my vets.

Complain the RVC (no idea if that's the right place) Giving the wrong vaccination could have been disastrous and surely isn't standard?

Possibly? I’m just happy he’s done now and I realised their information was incorrect before he had to totally restart.
I’ll have a look into it tho is RVC for ireland?
