George's vaccinations were out of date when I got him so I started them again, he had his tetanus and flu and then 6 weeks or so later he had the booster, I was under the impression that he needed another 6 mths later before starting the annual jabs - is this right? Just realised the 6mth one is due soon but I've had no reminder.

Thanks

The stated policy for vaccinations (taken from RC website) is-

The horse has received two injections for primary vaccination against Equine Influenza given no less than 21 days and no more than 92 days apart. (Only these first two injections need to have been given before the horse may compete). In addition a first booster injection must be given no less than 150 days and no more than 215 days after the second injection of the primary vaccination. Subsequently, booster injections must be given at intervals of not more than 1 year apart, commencing after the first booster injection. None of these injections must have been given within the preceding 7 days, including the day of the competition or entry into the competition stables. Annual vaccinations may be given on the same date each year, but this is not recommended.

I hope that helps

Yes - the course is:
Injection 1.
6 weeks later: booster
6 months later: booster
Following year Flu
Next year: Flu & Tet
next year: Flu
Next year: Flu & Tet
and so on:
To keep the vaccination certificate "legal", the jabs need to be done within the yearly timescale.

it's not the vets job to remind you! most vets will send out yearly booster reminders because the computers are set up for that, but they dont know it's been 6mths since your last vacc and you're due for the 3rd one - that's your job to remember it and book it!
