I know some vets send reminders and some don't and its a nightmare when you have to start again because you forgot to check your passport sooner so just a quick research question to see how many of you if you had the option would pay a small fee eg £5 a year to receive a vaccination reminder by e-mail, post or both followed by w courtesy call to get the new vacc date?

Thanks

Easier to either put a reminder in your phone or put a calendar up in your tack room with it written on, I bought a calendar from wilkos and cost me £1.50.

I've just had Reds done, my vets send out a little card with the due date. This year its going to change and it will be text reminders.

He's always due in the first week on NY, so I wrote it somewhere in the December of the calendar after it's done too :)*

My vets send a reminder and like others I also put it in my phone which syncs to both home & work pc, so no excuse really to forget

Thanks for answers good to get an idea of single horse owners, I organise vaccinations for over 100 horses at work and our vet was saying they don't send reminders out anymore at their practice to other yards and owners so just doing some research. thank you 😊

From a large yard point of view all horses have a copy of their passport kept electronically and are sorted into months according to when vaccs are due. The vet visits in the second week of each month as standard so any horse due vaccinations that month gets done.

It's an easy system and I would think most yards of a significant size would have something similar

Theres the free stablemate app that sends reminders for worming and vaccs. I know from a seminar night at our vets recently zoeitis are looking at producing something similar which also has emergency contact details for your specific veterinary practice. Vets im with is part of the pilot group, apparently its very good but currently only being used with 2 practices and only on apple software. So there are plenty of free or very cheap options out there, so not sure anyone would be willing to pay for an already free service!

No way would I pay for a reminder.

Everything goes in the work diary, home calendar & on my phone calendar. My yard also keep track of everything.
