Vaccinations- does 2 days late matter??

I'm quite shocked that people are suggesting asking the vet to compromise his career to backdate a vacc! Why didn't you get it done early during school holidays?

I personally wouldn't dream of asking my vet to backdate the vac date. It's not worth them losing their livelihood over. As others have said if you are not competing it shouldn't matter.

How did I know that was coming

I never once said that I was going to ask them to backdate, I never knew that it was such a bloody big deal anyway, otherwise yes I would have had it done.

Does it matter in the future though ? - if you wanted to do bigger shows with your horse in the future then you would have to restart the course as there would be a gap too big between them in the past - personally I never let mine get late not worth the expense.
Is there no one that can just hold your horse for the vet while it is done ?

There is no way a vet should be asked to backdate a certificate. They shouldn't be asked to potentially put their careers on the line due to the fault of an owner (I know the OP says she wouldn't do this but I am shocked at the readiness people recommend it as an option!) Restarting is the only way if you want to compete anywhere that an up to date certificate is required.
