My colt had his flu/tet in March. It was two days overdue which does not matter to me because our horses don't have contact with other horses. However, we may compete him next month.

Will we have to start again? Also for European competition are the regs for annual or six month vaccs?

Yes, unfortunately you need to start the course over again.

I'm pretty sure that your right and under FEI rules the vacs have to be given 6 months apart....

You say colt... how many vaccines has he had? If he's had his first and second and this is the 3rd done at 6 months before it becomes an annual vaccination then you have a window, not sure off hand what it is, so best to call your vet and tell them how many days have passed since the last vaccine and see if your within the window. Once the vaccines become annual then it has to be done no later than the same day the following year. Even one day over and you need to start the course again.

Sadly he is a two year old. He was only late because I planned to have him jabbed when vet came to attend our new born foal - mare went a month overdue and I took my eye of the ball.

RATS!!
