I'm a farmer. Own four horses, soon to be five, all vaccinated for flu and tetanus and all on a worming programme (as I've heard people say over and over that farmers never bother to worm either).
As a farmer, we find the minimal expense for worming and vaccinating means it's pointless to "not bother". Our veterinary bill for the cows averages out to about £8000 a year, so that puts the cost of vaccination into perspective.
