Just wondering, is it possible to have Vaccinations with the same batch number but with expiry dates over a year apart? Very confused at my horse's vaccination record on his passport. The first vaccine has an expiry date of April 2016 (administered in April 2016) and the second one done a month later, with the same batch number as the first, with an expiry date of July 2017. Anyone have any explanation?

There are some vets on here so someone might know the answer. But I can't personally see how that is possible. Have you tried googling the batch number and see if there are any reports of duplicate numbers being used?

same brand?

I don't know if they do it with vaccines but with some things it is possible to extend the expiry date by retesting them too ;) We do that with our medical diagnostics stuff, retest, extend expiry and relabel but the batch number would be the same.

No, I didn't think it was possible either. I've worked selling PML products, horse wormer, sheep and cattle wormer etc and they're very strict at recording batch numbers and expiry dates. Just thought this was odd but I will try Googling the batch number and see if anything comes up.
