Iv had my horse since feb 09. She came from a dressage home and i staed eventing her. She was doing fab, was fit as a grey hound and jumping like a stag! she tied up at the end of august and her bloods took 4 months to go back to normal (usually takes 1 month wen bad). So she had a muscle biopsy done.
They found that she has Vacuole Myopathy, which is tiny airbubbles in her muscles. They have never seen this in horses before, it is thought it may occur in humans. my vet said "I dont know how she stands let alone functions!" and no one knows what to do next!? i am going to try bringin her back into work, hopefully she is still capable of competiting as the think its something she has always had.
