As we have entered Stafford Intro, today's outing was planned to get me over my SJ issues (mainly that I cak myself at the sight of show jumps :D), well the Mooty pants well and truly stepped up to the job, and I LOVE SHOW JUMPING :o :D :p

She was fabulous :D Had pre-entered the 85cm and 95cm classes, with the intention of seeing how I felt after the 85cm and possibly losing my entry, rather than risk them being over-subscribed.

The 85cm was the first time Mal has seen a full course up indoors before, and I think it did it's trick in backing her off slighty (no bad thing with Moot!), it also included a Treble and a Water Tray, which everyone around me was complaining about, but I had faith in Mooty-Pants ;)
She was brilliant, tapped more than a few, but jumped clear...

..Cue an extra grinny me :D I then proceeded to completely lose the plot :o and rode like a fool in the JO :o First two jumps were awful and she had the second down, then I remember I was riding a baby and collected myself (apart from having a bit of a hoon down the long gap between two fences!) and she jumped around fab. Ended up as the fastest four faults (I think) and she came Fifth :D :D

So obviously I had to do the 95cm then! :p Once again, she was fabulous! Saw a bit of a long one to No 2 and stuffed that up, thought it had come down and rode like a muppet to No3, which she actually did have down (and made rather a lot of noise!) but went round the rest tapping everything but leaving them up, to finish on four faults :D

There were only 6 clears in that class, so I think she did pretty well for a baby jumping for the first time at that height, with a jockey that has only ever jumped one course of 90cm at a comp before! :D
She made it feel stupendously easy too, I'd have quite happily jumped bigger, so I can feel my SJ demons shrinking ever so slightly :D :D

No more Pavlova I'm afraid, but I do have Party Rings and Iced Gems if you want something for enduring that! :p

Have been looking forward to hearing how you did today, wow fantasic:D Moot looks so grown up huge well done to the pair of you:)

I know  I said to the Steward as I went in that she was only broken in Feb, and she looked at me like I was bonkers! :D

My Dad and I were just saying, we both fully expected to be doing nothing for a year, but Mal had completely different ideas :D Today you got the impression she went 'Finally!!' as she came into the first fence! :D

You both look great, naughty you how far were you looking back after tickling the last of the triple in the 95! :D :p :)

What a good day, love her enthusiasm

Hey big well done! I jumped that course last night, so know full well it wasn't the easiest - the line from 8-10 was also quite tricky. J also builds up to height so Stafford will look small to you now!

Haha, I wasn't looking at the fence, as I jumped I heard someone shouting and was trying to work out if something had happened and I was being shouted at to stop! :p

She loves jumping :D After I jumped the first round I let her have a breather before the JO, she completely switched off until I picked the reins back up and she shot sideways with excitement  :D

I found the turn from 6 to 7 tricky as Mal was determined to fall right in, plus everytime she came to the treble she locked onto 10 and went for that!
That was my plan, to make Stafford look titchy :D

She's awesome.

The rainbow fence at the end of that line is flippin' huuuuge. She's going to trip over be90 show jumping after that. ;)

It must be so nice to have a horse that always wants to get the job done and get to the other side of the fence. My confidence is now shot from only riding my mare for nearly seven years and she doesn't have that desire. Well sometimes she does, but only when she feels like it. :(

Your reports have made me realise I need to start looking for my own Mally, problem is I think they're more rare than rocking horse $hit!

Thank you! :D The most incredible thing is that I didn't look at that course and think it looked big, I'm such a wimp normally, but on Mally anything looks jumpable :D

I have never ridden a horse that wants to jump, so riding Mally is like someone switching a light on. It makes everything so much easier and enjoyable! My other horse, Henry, would have tried to jump the moon if I'd asked, but only because I'd asked him too, whereas Mally would do it for the sheer fun!

Measles does a good line in Mallys doesn't she?? I can't believe how lucky I've been, buying an unbroken youngster was such a big risk for me, but she is everything I wanted and so much more. :D

Yep, husband has been informed that I want a 'Measles Pony'. However, he thinks this means an Appaloosa. :D :D

Woo woooooo!! Go the Mal!! Have viewed pics in adoration a million times on fb. P.S. those fences look big to me....I am a wimp though.....whereas you clearly have balls of steel! Well done!

Thanks :D I saw a very beautiful looking Bruce (no fairy dust though, most disappointed!) heading to the warm up just as we were leaving. My dad's comment, completely unprompted - 'Wow, look at that horse's tail!' :D :D

Oh, and I think I saw Rodger, and was sorely tempted to steal him!!

wow those jumps are huuuge for 85cm!! I was gonna take my baby pony round there over the winter but having second thoughts now :P they really do look full up!
Well done! you must be so thrilled!! :D

Wow! Fantastic, can't believe she's only been broken a few months - and those fences look pretty up-to-height too. Best of luck in your BE90.

Fantastic result and as others have said when you consider how recently she was broken you have done an amazing job. Well done! :) :)

Thank you, it's weird how strong a bond we seem to have developed so quickly! She picks me out of a crowd of people and follows me everywhere like a big dog :D and I already trust her completely, so hopefully we'll only get better as a team :D

God, I must be getting braver in my old age as the 85cm looked nice and small to me :o I love Vale View, think it's perfect for babies, it does start at 70cm clear round too, so you'll be fine :D

Thank you, I don't think Mally understands the words 'progressing slowly' She gets bored so quickly that I have to keep moving on, although we won't be moving on from 95cm for a while, regardless of what she thinks!

she looks awesome!!!

those fences look bang up to height! in fact over height to my eye so hats off to you and the moot, well flipping done!xxxx

Thank you :D She is such a super mare, a complete stranger came over yesterday to say what a lovely horse she was, I almost popped with pride :o :D

Go Mally! She makes those fences look so easy and you sound like you're having great fun with her.

Just becareful you don't POP with pride when you both ace your first BE event in a few weeks! ;)

I don't think she even registered the difference in height TBH, the bigger the better in Mally-Land :D

Haha, we are aiming for a DC, so as not to add anything to what will be a very high dressage score!! Judges don't like my fat pony's trot ;)

Well Done!!! What an honest, genuine little mare! Lucky you! :) The noise really seems to echo round that arena- bless her for not worrying when she knocked the jump at the far end! :D

I think I may be seeing you at Stafford BE90, listen out for 'In The Nude' and watch me collapse into hysterics, and behold racing ponies giraffe impression as we try to get the highest stressage score :D

She looks wonderful, I can't believe she's so young! So mature!

Haha! I will keep an eye out :D But will be fighting tooth and nail for the highest stressage score, Moot doesn't 'do' trot

She is a very growed up lady, although she had her very first nappy tantrum yesterday (not much to write home about mind you!) but I am putting it down to the horrific weather!
