Didn't H&H say they were looking to raise 2.5 million for a 49% share but wanting a minimum investment of 250k? So where are all the big figures coming from and what's the point in people pledging small amounts via the fb page?!

To get your answer just look at the question " how much did T sell for?" one says £5m, another says £20m. That says it all. Unless you have counted the money changing hands no one will ever really know the final sum, which also stands for your question - its all conjucture and chinese whispers. Dont give it any more brain space!

I though V was up for £6 however others on here think the sum is vastly more than this, but again I dont have £6m to spend and it doesnt really bother me where he ends up, as the odds of him going to Rio are slim and the odds of him getting gold again are even slimer. This has been Charlottes year, allow her to enjoy it without thinking to far ahead into the unknown- can she continue in this way or will there be another "groom who makes it big"? (Funnily enough in showjumping yes there are plenty - only poles fall down dont they?)

Does anyone know of a horse that has competed more than once at the olympics?

If someone wants to buy him fair enough, but if people are stupid enough to 'donate' then they don't deserve the money! Carl Hester, Charlotte D etc don't need financial help that desperately. Go give the money to a horsey charity instead.

Well said! I am finding it hard to believe that this isn't a scam.
 
I think his over inflated price might be one of the reasons he hasn't sold. He's a gelding and who knows if he will still be sound in 4 yrs time. If people have got that sort of money to throw away ( because it certainly isn't an investment), then good luck to them.
 
TBH causes such as PFK, EMW and WHW are more deserving of these funds.... Charlotte D and Carl H are not shot of a few bob, having purchased another very smart 2 yo recently for £30k.

Valegro is a stunning gelding, but he is a gelding and only have is competition excellance as his USP, he is not a stallion and cannot benefit future generations. Charlotte and Valegro were stunning the Olympics, but with horses such as Damon Hill growing more established, Rio is going to be a very well contended battle.

I think it is fab everyone is so behind Charlotte, but lets not lose our head s over it. Sure the money is more deserving is true equine need cases? I know where i would rather donate to...
