Valerian Cordial - Any good?

have ordered some for one of my lot who is spooky and seems to suffer from a form of seperation anxiety - is fine being left in the field alone - but if we are schooling (especially competing away from home) he is ok ish until left alone without another horse...
does it work (and yes i know its banned for competing!!!)

No it doesn't, you could give Sedalin a try, if he's left on his own for a short while. Tried Valerian Cordial mostly oil very little Valerian.

Valerian root is excellent!! Stinks, but working great for my MIL's anxious gelding! xxx

have used v -calm from herbal horses. it does work but dont expect it to sedate your horse and work like ACP because it wont. it works to calm and help relax and deal with the situation. it is one of the few herbal things that is proven to work in calming which is why it is a band substance. It acts upon the CNS and disrups the signals so your horse will still apper normal but may not be as stressy and just able to deal with the situation.
how well it works will depend on the quality of the valerian used better the quality the better it is likley to work and also the pontenty of the suplement and what it has been mixed with.
Give it and try.

Well it worked on me lol. I was due to do a major presentation at work (big new client, lots of people, multi million contract, lots of pressure blah blah). I get nervous doing presentations for some reason. Anyway I decided to try a calming thing and bought valerian based pills and (thank god) tried them before the presentation. Well I was out for the count Couldn't flippin stay awake! Slept past my stop on the train and woke up (by the guard prodding me) when the train terminated! Um I decided NOT to take it before the presentation...

So yes, could work for your horse
