Value of an sjer

Well it really depends on just how far the horse can go and at 6yo it has time on its side. The breeding is decent so let's assume it can jump upto 1.30m tracks at least. If it is going to be comfortable and regularly DC at 1.30m then perhaps £12k to £15k. However, if 1.30m's are its limit and it is realistically a 1.20m horse (quite possible) then I would say nearer £10k max.

If (and it is a big IF) it is capable of going 1.40m or higher (and being competitive!) then you could get a lot more

I really like him - I think what everyone says seems realistic.

Hmm well i would say around £12k.... seeing as i was offered £10k for Blue who is currently just jumping DC at BN!!!

Although he can and will go higher am not sure how far!

Id say £6000 max IMO. But then again your English prices are insane....!! But considering he's 6, NC isnt particularily far on if you know what I mean. Does he have any BSJA winnings? He just sounds like a bit of a late starter?

He has winnings, yes. He's also done a pre-novice last year and is schooling elementary, going on medium at home. He moves beautifully. He's big so was given time to mature, he only started jumping BSJA couple of months ago.
Will try and get a vid of me jumping him, you'll see what I mean by scope!!

That makes it a whole different story, eventers are stupid money

He looks lovely and I certainly wouldnt ask for any less than £10k. Val is gorgeous and my friend has just put her mare to him....she has already been offered £6k for the foal when its born (but then again the mare has won some BIG sj classes at Hickstead)

When we were at Renkum stud looking for a potential 'mate' I did look at some horses by Val there (ie 5yr olds, not done a lot etc) - they were up for over £10k, so think this one shouldnt be any different. In terms of the buck and 'spirit', wouldnt have thought you would want to be selling this horse to anyone that couldnt handle that anyway

NC isn't big for a 6yo and i would say you only get the higher prices for young horses that are jumping their age classes which for a 6yo is 1.25m usually.

So i would say £7-£12k
