I've been loaning a mare for two years now and her owner has finally said to me I can buy her if I would like to. She's NOT saying she wants to sell her regardless, she is aware that without me she would have to put her up for sale due to time and money.
She is a 15hh Cob x ISH mare, rising 7yo. She has a good jump on her but is very nervous when not around other horses. She cannot hack alone, is very spooky and can be very strong and silly on the ground without regular groundwork. She hasn't been to any shows and has only travelled to a sponsored ride and a XC course hire. She has no mare or sir on her passport so no proven bloodlines.
When I loaned her two years ago she had only just been broken so was very green.
Shes come on a lot since then although Ive been doing everything at a steady pace.
She can jump a course of 80cm and has scope for a lot bigger.
Her owner has said she got her valued at £3000 when she was a youngster as she has show jumping bloodlines.. There is nothing regarding her bloodlines on her passport so this isn't proven. She said if it wasn't a friend she be looking for £2400.
I've been talking to my friends about this and they've said to make a low offer as I have brought her on, and theres no hassle of selling for the owner or finding somewhere for the mare while she sells her. Her owner has said make an offer..
What would you offer?
