Long story but basically my sister cant ride for a fair while which means her horses are sat at home doing not very much this season.
Odin will probs have to be sold, she really doesnt want to as she has put so much work into him and he's a completely different horse now to how he was plus she really enjoys him.

So......

He'll be 9 this year, he had a good start at 5 then went to a junior who didnt get on with/like him so his form went a little downhill. He's been round a couple of intermediates, he has the scope and ability to do intermediates no problem but when he came to us, he was very weak on the flat so we focused on improving him at novice. He has 23ish points, can do a very smart test and is easy on the flat. Sj he is capable of jumping a perfect clear round but sometimes for no reason he will be careless and have some poles. Xc he's very agile, great fun, doesnt pull and knows his job.
He jumped clear round Aldon 1* last Autumn, he would have won an open novice had my sister not stared the before the bell

(he did 25 dressage, double clear) He's easy enough for a junior and would be great at JRNs/take a good rider round OIU21s, the aim with us would have been to do a 2* this year.

He's a little quirky, he's by Fleetwater Opposition so thats expected! He's lovely to have around though, very affectionate and loves attention but can be a bit clingy/impatient. He hacks ok, not great on his own but he wont do anything nasty. Good on roads etc.

Any ideas on price? We've only had him 7/8 monthsish

He was advertised at 15k when we bought him but we reduced that by 1/3.
We also nearly bought him as a 5year old, when he was for sale at 12k!!

I would say 15K as he sounds ideal Junior material, he is proven at 1star level and over intermediates. Most horses with his track record go for around this figure.

How depressing about your sister. Hope she's ok. Shame you're not closer to home at times like this, still at least you are there at Easter.
Don't have a clue about his value, though DD might have some idea, they were trying to sell Floyd for a similar maket weren't they.
Can you get your hands on any of the ponies to do a bit of competing on...

I'll speak to you later to organise you teaching my brown pony how to canter, prior to his aff debut

Around £12K as it sound like he could be a bit nappy hacking on his own - if that isnt the case then fair enough. But I cant stand that I like them to hack alone.

And although a good horse sounds like he could be inconsistent? Cant comment really without seeing him or his record.

But sounds a nice horse for a capable JNR

how about loaning him out? Dont know it you know but Gubby has had part of our yard converted into an 'event' yard, its really lovely now.....has your sister thought about offering him the ride until shes better? I know hes keen to start getting horses in x

What has your sister done?

I would say he must be comfortably worth 15k if not more. There is a money no object market for good JRN horses. I had someone ring re Rags who's daughter had 2 good horses and just wanted another nice one to bring on money no object - if only!

I agree with about £15k.
I can also vouch for the fact that he's lovely to hack in company, very sane! And he's also a total sweetie! Wish I was good enough to ride him/ had the money!
