Calling all dressage riders!

How do you value "proper" dressage horses? A friend of mine has a horse, training at Grand Prix, about to compete Inter I - 2nd in his last PSG.

How much is he worth?

(Not an advert as he's not currently for sale! He will be, but he will be advertised through the proper channels when the time comes lol!)

There are more factors to consider before you arive at a price, eg: age of horse, what sort of percentages, that kind of thing. I have a similar horse, and i know what money i've turned down for her, mine is definately not for sale!!

As above, many factors in play. Will it be a competitive International horse? Potential Team player? Will it go for an amateur? Would it do YR and then go

Grrrr phone!

. . .go GP? 69% is a good score but not a great one and again, it would depend on why and what room there was for improvement.

GP horses obviously go for millions but I've also seen even quite established ones sell for low five figures.

I'd say your friend is best to consult a trainer or two, and possibly an agent, on that specific horse.
